I'm Edgar Leal, and I run PaintXperts out of Saugerties, New York. Outside of work, I like to slow things down by smoking meat, looking at art, and learning about history. I've always been drawn to things that are built with intention and care.
PaintXperts is a family business I've been around since I was young. I grew up working alongside my father and brother on homes across Ulster County and the Hudson Valley, and that's where I learned what doing things the right way actually means. Not rushing, not cutting corners — just taking pride in the work and paying attention to the details.
After high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at 17 and served as an 0311 rifleman. That experience shaped me a lot. It taught me discipline, accountability, and how to push through tough situations. More than anything, it gave me a strong sense of structure and responsibility that I still carry with me.
Over time, I realized I really enjoy leading and building something solid — having systems in place, keeping things organized, and making sure everything runs the way it should. That's something I've brought directly into PaintXperts. It shows up in how we schedule, how we protect your home, and how we prep a surface before a drop of paint goes on it.
At the end of the day, we just focus on doing things right. Keeping things clean, staying organized, and delivering work that we're proud of — whether that's a full exterior on a historic home in Rhinebeck, a cabinet refinish in Kingston, or a deck up in Windham. We're not here to rush through projects. We're here to create something that lasts and looks right every time you see it.
